The ONLY way to tour the Wine Country
We've tried them all; on foot, bicycling, motorcycling, private
auto, Wine Train, tour bus--- we even visited an out-of-the-way
winery on horseback one sunny afternoon in Calistoga. But,
I'm here to tell you that there one BEST WAY TO TOUR THE WINE
COUNTRY and that is by limousine.
"Too rich for my blood!" you might say but, it
isn't. Honestly. That was the most surprising facet of our
last limo winery tour, its affordability. And that's especially
true if you get together another couple or two---lots more
fun too.

Our Limo picks us up at RiverPointe

Whenever we have guests we
try to take a day or, at very least, half day and do a
limo tour of the Napa Valley.
This was just a few weeks ago when our two daughters,
Carly and Jaime came to see us on their spring break.
We made RiverPointe Napa Valley our base of operations
and took off here, early (9AM) as we had a private,
VIP tour set up for us by the folks at Beaulimousine,
one of Napa's biggest limo companies, certainly its
best.

You might not think that,
at 10AM, any wine would taste very good but you would
be wrong when you are talking about those special wines
served up by the Beringer staff were superlative. A selection
called "Alluvium Blanc," a white from Knights
Valley ranks with the best whites I have ever had and
I can't say
enough good about the 1996, Napa Valley Cabernet
Sauvignon. Laden with as much wine as we could carry
we were off to our next stop. |

We arrive at Beringer and Jamie "deplanes"
our limousine.

After an informative tour of the winery, we browsed their
gift shop, took a walk around the fabulous estate and then
headed for our next stop. We had spend almost two hours here
which is easy to do at most of the wineries offering tours.
We purchased some wines that are only available at the winery
and headed to our next stop, lunch. And what a lunch it was!!
