Best of White Wines overseas

Fine white wines are made all over the world. Here is a short list of good white wines from outside the USA, a list of a little sunshine in a wine glass that you can get your hands on and savor. You may just like the wine so much that it may leave you with a pleasant opinion of that country.

Schloss Gobelsburg Gruner Veltliner Lamm 2009: This fine white wine is from Austria. This is a lush, creamy and tropical white wine, with aromas and flavors of guava, pineapple, apricot and pecan. It has a rich finish that is powerful, spicy and smoky, with a mineral essence that is delicate. It can be approached now through 2020.

Elios Mediterranean White 2010: This fine white wine is from Greece. This wine is pale yellow like the color of straw with a bouquet of melon and citrus with a hint of vanilla and honey. The wine is refreshing and crisp on the palate, having distinct finish of green apple.

Boekenhoutskloof The Wolftrap White 2010: This white wine is from South Africa. This wine is a blend Viognier 67%, Chenin Blanc 19% and Grenache Blanc 14%. It has a pleasant mix of fruit blossom, almond and spice flavors that is followed by a neatly textured palate with good weight and a smooth finish. The wine has an aftertaste of subtle wood flavors that lingers.

Yarden Sauvignon Blanc 2009: This fine white wine is from Israel. Yarden Sauvignon Blanc proudly protrudes it notes of bright fresh lime, some kiwi and a hint of guava. Its shows off a tropical green character that is medium bodied. The finish is fresh, making this wine drinkable with a lot of joy. It is best to consume it within a few years from its harvest.

Maximin Grunhauser Riesling QbA Trocken 2009: This fine white wine comes from Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Germany. This Riesling is dry and has a swirl of vanilla, apple and citrus deeply embedded in such a base as rain water that is harvested within a stony hollow. The finish is light and fresh as the flavors linger on.

 

Vintage White Wines

Not all wines get better with age but those that do are mostly the collector’s wines. These vintages ought to be kept properly in cellars at the right temperature.
