This remarkable wine has a fruit density which will remind you of a great vintage Montrachet. It is almost oil being full bodied, rich and dense, turning fresh and bright with its acidity, a complete marvel. This wine is super intense, fabulous and long, with dried sliced apples and pineapple. Powerful and dense and has a backbone for acidity with a very long finish. It has a wonderful baby white structure. Philippe Foreau Vouvray Moelleux Reserve "Clos Naudin" 2009 : This 97 point rated fine white wine is from Loire, France. Pear brown-spiced liqueur with quince preserve dominated the proceeding with perfume of lily freesia. There is elegance and buoyancy despite viscosity, giant richness in texture and residual sweetness. It has a sense of lift that is combined with juicy blood orange and grapefruit that avoids palate fatigue. Enigmatic botrytis manifestations of truffle, white raisins and stale bread emerge from the empty glass. Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay 2007: This 96 point rated fine white wine is from Margaret River, Australia. It is pale and bright straw-green; aromatic grapefruit with white peach and melon fragrance that is subtly integrated with oak. This followed by an intense and long palate with alcohol lost in the sea of flavor. Ramey Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay 2008: This 95 point rated fine white wine is from Carneros, California. It is a full and well balanced wine with a lot of flamboyant oak and fruit combined for outstanding richness. Its superb acid-firmed structure puts it in a class of its own. Its complexity, fruity depth and vitality are bound to tempt you into early drinking, when it will actually get better with age. |
Not all wines get better with age but those that do are mostly the collector’s wines. These vintages ought to be kept properly in cellars at the right temperature.
