90+ Rated Wines Under $20

Everybody enjoys a good deal, where a person can get the best product within a set amount of money. For white wine lovers this is something they will be looking for, where they can enjoy a good white wine under the $20 cost. The point system that these wines scored on is based and taken from reputed wine publications.

Brokenwood Semillon 2010: This 94 point rated white wine is from the Hunter Valley, Australia. The wine is bouquet delicate and is full of nervous energy on the palate with tingling lemongrass flavor that take your through a long finish.

Goldwater Sauvignon Blanc 2010: This 92 point rated white wine is from Marlborough, New Zealand. It is pale yellow and brings out citrus peel, pepper, tarragon and subtle saline minerals in its bouquet. It is tactile, rich and full without showing much weight.The intensity and life it offers in the mouth are full of spicy flavors, citrus and minerals. This is complex and serious wine with superb depth. It has a very long finish with a hint of guava and passion fruit.

Elk Cove Estate Riesling 2009: This 92 point rated white wine is from Willamette Valley, Oregon. It has aromas which are lifted and brisk with an element for green apple and lemon curd. It has bright, firm and lemony flavors that ripple with acidity to a good finish. This wine is exclusively for the lemon soul.

Guy Saget Vouvray Marie de Beauregard 2009: This 91 point rated white wine is from Loire, France. The wine is mouth-filling and ripe with multiple layers of dried persimmon, quince, pear eau de vie and ginger that slowly unfold while the lively minerality cuts through and leaves a lovely definition of a long finish. It can be approached now going through 2016.

L'Ecole 41 Chardonnay 2009: This 91 point rated white wine is from Columbia Valley, Washington. This pure Chardonnay is from a cool climate and shows lean sculpted spines which expand and define flavors. For a Washington Chardonnay this is exceptionally complex with natural acidity, a mix of fruits pineapple, apple, peach and a finishes with a tight layering of the same. The core is dense and will unravel with bottle age, will surely prosper with cellaring.

 

Vintage White Wines

Not all wines get better with age but those that do are mostly the collector’s wines. These vintages ought to be kept properly in cellars at the right temperature.
