Chateau La Mission-Haut-Brion (Futures Pre-sale) 2010: This is a 100 point rated red wine from Bordeaux, France. This is a powerful La Mission, 2010. It blends 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc, 37% Merlot, which has achieved 15% natural alcohol content. The pH level is normal giving the wine the precision, vibrancy and freshness despite its large size. This full bodied wine is a collectors wine and needs about 10 years of cellaring and should go on for 40 to 50 years.

Cardinale Red Meritage 2006: This is a 100 point rated red wine from Napa Valley, California. The Cardinale stands at the head of the pack of all big names in Napa wines. It has an aroma of cedar, ripe black berries, cassis and violets. It is refined and dramatic when rolled in the mouth. It has depth and length and has a finish of sweet fruits and spices for one full minute. The tannins are just great being powerful as well as refined. The grapes are from Mt Veeder, Stag Leap, Howell Mountain and Oakville, the blend has 14% Merlot. It is good now but will even get better within a minimum of eight years of cellaring.

Clarendon Hills Astralis Syrah 2005: This is a 99 point rated red wine from McLaren Vale, Australia. This wine is a beautiful blend of smoky oak, espresso, violets, black pepper, blackberry and blueberry liqueur. Being tightly wound and densely packed all this wine needs is time. It has attributes that harmonize and once this wine fully unwinds it will make even the top rated wines seem conservative.

Artadi Vina el Pison 2007: This is a 98 point rated red wine from Rioja, Spain, which is medium purple and has a aroma of smoke, crushed stone, lavender, liquid mineral, black cherry and balsamic. This is a beautiful, elegant, well proportioned, satin textured wine with a lot of structure, plush fruit and a long seamless finish. It is good to have now and will continue to evolve well till 2027.

Stonestreet Monument Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2007: This is a 96 point rated red wine from Sonoma County, California. This is a dramatic red wine with authoritative tannins that is all dry and noble. It has great terroir complexity of structure and deeply intense blackberry, blueberry, and herb flavors. Bottle complexities should be developed in a decade or probably longer.

Vintage White Wines

Not all wines get better with age but those that do are mostly the collector’s wines. These vintages ought to be kept properly in cellars at the right temperature.
